About the event

Due to popular demand, we will now be teaching three games on Wednesdays.

This Wednesday we will be playing Brook City, Marvel Age of Heroes & Space Cadets.

Brook City: 7.3

A mysterious criminal element has taken root in Brook City. Known only as "The Syndicate," this collection of ruthless murderers, clever thieves, corrupt politicians, and dirty cops has given rise to a new era of crime. The Brook City Police Department needs the best of the best to clean up the streets of this once-peaceful metropolis. So here's your gun and badge...get to work, officer.

Brook City is a cooperative miniatures board game of blockbuster action for 1–4 cops. Taking on the roles of heroic cops inspired by classic action movie stars, players take their cop decks up against sinister criminal decks and cryptic case decks.

The gameplay focuses on a sprawling game board depicting the mean streets of Brook City. Players must use their chosen cop's unique deck to race across the city—both on foot and behind the wheel—busting up their chosen criminal's machinations while simultaneously piecing together the clues to the chosen case.

Brook City thrusts players into a world of big-budget Hollywood action, where they can take down dangerous criminals, bust crimes with custom dice, commandeer a variety of vehicles, and solve complex cases inspired by classic cop stories.

Brook City utilizes Adam and Brady Sadler's "Modular Deck System (MDS)," which they introduced in Street Masters. The MDS focuses on quick setup and elegant, card-driven gameplay while allowing players to customize their game experience by mixing and matching fixed decks to create truly unique match-ups.

Marvel Age of Heroes: 7.1

Marvel: Age of Heroes is an epic strategy game in which each player commands a duo of X-Men who are dispatched to defeat villains and complete objectives.

Your team will collect resources and power-ups before embarking on dangerous missions in one of the three uniquely challenging scenarios included in the game. The most effective team will manage their skills, train their mutants, and outpace the competition in the Institute and Mission Phase. Scenarios, asymmetric abilities, new abilities, and scoring conditions all serve to provide uncanny playability!

Player are heroes are represented by a set of striking full-color acrylic standees. Teams include fan-favorites like Wolverine and Jubilee, Jean Grey and Cyclops, Forge and Storm, and more! Cards and player boards have a gorgeous dreamscape art effect as if a powerful telepath is seeing them through Cerebro.

The deck features dozens of iconic X-Men characters and events that are available through a shared market. Players will be jockeying to collect and influence the heroes that are most useful for their strategies. As the board and scenarios evolve, your characters will, as well. Special evolution cards add new abilities and scoring conditions.

Space Cadets: 6.6

It's your lifelong dream – to join the Star Patrol and be part of the crew of an interstellar Starship. You've worked hard, graduated from the academy, and received your first assignment as part of a team of young recruits, confident in your training and ready to be put to the test. Nothing can possibly go wrong as you are prepared for anything...

You are the Space Cadets.

Space Cadets is a fun and frantic cooperative game for 3-6 players who take on the roles of Bridge Officers of a Starship. Each officer must accomplish his specific task in order for the team to successfully complete the mission. You might be the...

Helmsman, plotting the ship's course through asteroid fields and nebulae. Engineer, using dominoes to get enough power to each system. Weapons Officer, completing puzzles to load the torpedoes and flicking a disc down a track to launch them. Shield Officer, using tiles to form poker hands to get the strongest shields. Sensor Officer, using your sense of touch to scan and lock on enemy targets. Captain, setting the plan and making sure that everyone stays focused and does their job. If your crew can work together to accomplish the mission goals, you just might make it home in one piece.

Come join us on Wednesday, Aug 9th @ 6:00 pm to learn any of these games for Workshop Wednesday. See ya soon!
