About the event

For the month of October any event you attend hosted by Voss Media will give you a stamp on your ticket book! This even does qualify for a ticket!

This Wednesday we will be playing and teaching Creature Feature & Bloodborne The Card Game!

Creature Feature: 6.7

In this game of hand management and bluffing by Richard Garfield, you are a movie agent representing actors who excel at particularly monstrous roles. Try to get them the part in the feature film! Or, failing that, at least a part in SOME film.

Each round you will assign a Co-star and a Star (cards with a number value and possibly a special ability) to audition for a role (a tile worth points). Everyone will reveal their co-stars and then have the opportunity to change what they are auditioning for and instead try for lesser films worth fewer points. Winning a part scores points - but there's a twist! If your star has a lower value than your co-star, you can't win unless everyone else stops competing for that film... but if everyone DOES back off, you score extra points!

The game ends after a fixed number of rounds, and the player with the most points wins!

Bloodborne The Card Game: 6.9

Bloodborne: The Card Game is based on the Chalice Dungeons in the video game Bloodborne — the ever-changing labyrinths and tombs carved out by the Great Ones beneath the fallen city of Yharnam, where horrifying creatures reside. Players compete to kill monsters and take their blood.

In general, Bloodborne is a game about risk management with a bit of group think, inventory management/upgrades, and tactical play. You start with a hand of basic weapons, which you get to upgrade to improve your fighting combos and capabilities.

Each turn, one monster chosen at random attacks players, who fight back as a team, with everyone playing a card from their hand simultaneously to attempt to kill the monster. Players collect blood from the monster, assuming it dies, based on how much damage they dealt. Monsters can fight back with exploding dice that can potentially deal infinite damage.

Players can fight as long as they want, but if they die in combat, they lose their progress. Players can opt out of fighting to bank their blood and save it permanently. Collected blood counts as victory points.

Come join us on Wednesday, October 9th @ 6:00 p.m. to learn any of these games for Workshop Wednesday. See you soon!
